Director: Dr. Jiang Yu ZHENG
The TASI Smart Sensing for Driving Lab, founded by Dr. Zheng in 2015, focuses on the research and development of sensing technologies for autonomous driving vehicles. Video cameras and other sensors are the major input devices on the intelligent vehicles to perform real time scene detection and tracking. We have worked on the recognition of vehicles, pedestrians, bicyclists, road environments, traffic flow, dangerous events and potential accidents by the cameras on moving vehicles. We also mine big-data of naturalistic driving video for sensor development, environment visualization, vehicle testing benchmark, and accident analysis. Computer vision, artificial intelligence, and data mining approaches are applied to these objectives.
